FROM THE ART TEAM WHO PRODUCED THE CANADA 150 MOSAIC
Mural Mosaic produced over 100 Murals for a National Mural Project during Canada's Sesquicentennial.
The Canada Mosaic Mural project was launched in 2015 to celebrate our 150th birthday, beginning the journey to complete 150 murals illustrating Canada’s cultural and geographical diversity.
Over 80,000 people participated in this national project to celebrate Canada's 150th Anniversary.
In total, over 100 Mosaic Murals were completed between 2015 to 2018.

This global art project by Mural Mosaic will (Re)Connect the World. One painted tile, one tree, one community, one country at a time.
The purpose of this project is to (re)connect our communities, families and long distance loved ones through the joy and inspiration that bringing mosaic tiles together into one united piece of art.
While we can’t be in every country on every mural site, we can all create art virtually to maintain our safety and enjoy sharing and connecting with one another.
Mural Mosaic Art Director and world renowned artist, Lewis Lavoie, has chosen the TREE🌳 as the symbol of connection for this project.
These one-of-a-kind mural mosaics will be created, connected and shared around the entire WORLD!

This world map is like a dream board. The vision for this project is to reach out and create as many murals as possible around the world to reconnect us all to our roots.
Roots of our communities, homes and families. Also, the roots of sharing, giving and connection.
The inspiration behind the project is to (re)ignite and (re)inspire our world back to what matters most - our connections to one another.
We are a mosaic of individual strengths and differences and together we are one united work of art.

ART WITH PURPOSE
Every Global Roots Mosaic Mural engages participants in the process of painting a tile representing their connection to community, country, colleagues, team, family and even the world!
Each tile is painted with loving care to represent an important and iconic image that holds meaning to its participant.
Participants of every age and skill level are welcome to paint in these collaborative mosaic murals.
As we ease back to having events in shared spaces, our team has orchestrated a highly interactive process to provide workshops online so that participants can paint from the comfort and safety of their own spaces.
We collect the completed tiles digitally or by mail depending on final mural production and our artist and design teams work their magic to create each mosaic mural.
As all the completed tiles connect, a united image of a tree emerges representing both the contributions of individual participants and the collective group artwork - a true reflection of unity through diversity.
Participants return over and over again to reflect on their experience and show others their painted tile contribution to the mural.
These murals are an awe inspiring legacy of a moment in time we want to celebrate a reconnection with the world.🌎

We are blown away by your interest in the project and our small team is growing to accommodate growing to as many countries as possible.
On August 22nd, 2022, Global Roots Launched 5 New Countries for 5 Mural Mosaics:
